For anyone who likes fantasy stories based in reality, here's one i can't recommend highly enough: The Scorpio Races, by Maggie Stiefvater. It's a YA book, but don't let that fool you.

Rayah, I think you in particular would enjoy this.

YA = Young Adult.

Addendum: The book is about Celtic water horses.

Ahh, like the redwall abbey books. They are pretty violent though for YA but that is what they are considered.
