There are actually three....including one from 1956 and another from (surprise) 1984 starring William Hurt. Neither of these are very good. If you have read and really like the book I would suggest keeping your own images rather than the ones forced upon you by these two movies. There was also a BBC made for TV version released sometime in the 50's (before the movie) that is supposedly very well done but I have never seen it. Hopefully the next try will be worthwhile, but in Orwell's own words "whoever controls the past controls the future." Too bad Kubrick's not around to tackle this one...seems like a movie he could make.

Yeah too bad Kubrick isnt around... I would be fascinated by his version of it. I'm kind of disappointed the movie isnt what I was hoping for. Guess I will not see it, at this point anyway...
