Rheniium would like to see if we can take one more shot at taking out the Ire Blind Imp in the Planr of Fear (Tues July 12 6pm Pacific 8 pm central 9pm eastern in the Plant of Fear in the event that we suffer the same unfortunate circumstances that we did on our first attempt she and her sisters will be happy to furnish the plat to buy the summoning reagents needed to recover our corpses in the Guild Lobby Lets all meet at the Ooggok Stone in PoKin at the designated time or timess

Seems every time we go to Fear, the Ireblind Imp has been up, but
in case it isn't the spawn method (news to me) is:

spawns (which is NOT KoS naturally, but WILL aggro off of a nearby fight) spawns .

Only 60th level...but that AE Mezz scares me so....

One thing we haven't tried (or, I haven't been on a raid that tried) was to kite the guy, rather than standing toe-to-toe and battling him. (See the Allakhazam discussion on this strategy). What's the concensus on strategy here?

P.S. I've never tried this before, but this line caught my eye: "Much like you used with your DoTs, lich cancels out the (Ireblind Imp's) mez.". That means I'll have my LICH up and running the whole time, and as soon as it does damage to me, it should (according to this guy) break the Ireblind's mezz on me. Similarly, any character that can do a "self DOT" (like Lich or Cannibalize) ought to have it up and running for this fight to keep the mezz from lasting more than 6 seconds.


P.P.S. It looks like DoTs will ONLY break the mezz IF they are doing more damage to you than you are regenerating. So if you're loaded with Chloroplast, etc, and have a mini-DoT on, it isn't going to help. Sounds like a trade-off of careful balances. Can we have our Shammies make some for folks to consume before the fight, and NOT use regenerating spells? (rather just relying on direct heals)?

I have read that casting a low-level dot on oneself will counteract the mezz. I can cast stinging swarm on myself, but I couldn't cast it on anyone else. Are there dot potions people can use on themselves?

There is the potion of Stinging Wort which gives 300 hp upon drinking and slowly takes those hpsat -2 per tick for 6 min away just as a dot would. Rhennium had put several of these potions in the guild bank and will make more as she gets the ice giant toes needed for them. at least with this potion you know exactly how many hps you will lose since it is the number given to you upon drinking the potion

atm i cant remember what mob i was after but snowdark casted a dot on her self to keep from being mezed and it worked great ,,,,but it took like 8 to 10 casts to get it to stick on me
but it does work

Thanks to those thatmanaged to make it tp fear last nightbut unfortunatelythe guest of honor declined our invitation to appear . I think most of us had a fun night. and thank you Allegretta who did manage to slip in at least long enough to do her normal good job of of and Freez came to do his normal good job of crowd controlbuffing, and also Malbro, and you too Puddinghead.(we csn't forget to mention the Orge Shaman even Kahmon made a surprise visit Also another former guild mate "[b]Mmarion of clan DeBold"made a special trip over just to give the group cleric buffs to the groupof us though Primus Exodus was raiding kast night. some new friends from Mark of the Black Frog attended also. and I would like to say congrats to Bolandar ofMot BF for getting his Ball of everlasting Golem though our group did not make the kill but another group in fear did and gave him looting rights . [b]Windelyn sorry that your epic mob also failed to make an appearance. it seems that the epic mobs were being very bashful last night . hopefully we will get to set up another trip to Fear at a time that is more convirnient to the members of WoV in the near future

p.s. sorry I whined about the lack of ah hum (I say this loosely) our cleric not rebuffing after debuffing mobs .....TY Freez for kei and keeping me in the corner and I am looking forward to giving it another WoV try

in spite of having to overcome a lot of intertia to get off dead center, i'd call the event a success

we broke into fear without incedent, killed a bunch of mobs and exited the zone with no unplanned deaths
