Wayfarers of Veeshan

thanks to a few guildees last night i was able to find out what may be causing my unplayable lag,
need more ram :\
have 512, but want to put a new stick of 512 in and replace the old one, on a dell inspiron 8200 laptop, any ideas on how to go about doing this, never had someone else put ram in one of my PC's before :\

I'm not sure how that one is set up, but on my notebook, there is a panel on the bottom I take two screws out of, pull it off and slide in the new ram.
Then just put the panel back on.
All in all, it's not much different from replacing ram in a tower system.

sweet, any idea how much they go for.

also i have tried to run morrowind, big grpahical game, it lags as bad as EQ does. but the sound runs smoothly, video or ram do you think?

What kind of video adapter is the notebook running?
And I have no idea how much the notebook ram runs, I think it's about the same as a standard pc.
You can probably jump on some at Best Buy on Friday after Thanksgiving for a very nice sale price if you get there before they are sold out.

my normal PC sometimes tends to run slow even out of games though

reka if you have a dell be very careful .. i have a dell and i bought ram once and it was the wrong one .. dell has machiens with its own set of ram called dram or tram or something like that (seefel knows ill ask him when i get home today) we had to order it directly from dell when we upgraded

Those MMX card, at least in my experience, have always had the occassional slow down.
They are also not fully capable of doing vertex pixel shaders and all that jazz, which they have added to EQ 1 now.
Since I upgraded to Nvidia 5xxx or higher series cards in my machine, I noticed a big improvement on lag in EQ...though PoK is laggy as ever.

oh man. i hate brand name computers, always had a problem with them. normally build my own, but this one was a gift :\
*sigh* ok ill see what i can do to fix it.
