Having it memmed is not the problem. I have the spell memmed on Minalcar and Minardil and I think Minardil has a copy in the bank.

I tried to give a copy to Alley last night for her trader to sell and she couldn't take it. I had to give it to her trader instead.

Update:

I did a /bug report long ago and didn't think much about it again. The other day I was passing through Echo and the Great Saprophyte was up. I killed him, he had the spell, and I was able to loot it.
