Anyone remember when the "new epics" came out and achieving a 1.5 seemed hard enough without even considering what would go into a 2.0?

Just goes to show ya how you kids have grown up...<sniff>..

P.S. Look for epic 3.0 within the next 2 expansions...if it hasn't been announced, I'll bet on it

There's already an aug for the 2.0 that's considered the 2.5. And I didn't even know about that until I started looking into possible augs for my current epic. I don't have a clue what's involved in getting it, and I probably won't care for awhile. :)

The so-called 2.5 augment comes from a drop from the Demi-Plane of Blood (end zone of DoDH). Each archetype has a specific drop from raid mobs in the zone that you turn-in to an NPC in Dreadspire Keep (the non-instance version of DPoB). Think of it like needing the Globe of Discordant Energy to complete the 2.0. Everyone needs it, but it only drops off of raid mobs in a very high end zone. For knights, at least, the upgrade is an invisible aug (slot 30) that adds 15ac, 40hp/mana, 45atk, regen and mana regen 3, and dmg 4:



I don't really consider the augment the 2.5 because I'm sure if they do create an epic 3.0 there will be a true 2.5 quest to complete first. For the sake of the game though, they should even consider doing this at least for three expansions (3 years) because the 2.0+aug combination is still in many cases better than alternative weapon/item combinations.
