Leashing as I understand it.

If a mob is leashed this means that it can only travel a set distance from its spawn point before it will snap back to its spawn point. Think of a dog in a yard on a chain/leash and he runs out to bite you but you are just outside his reach. When he hits the end of his leash he snaps back to where he was before he ran to attack you. Usually when a mob "leashes" it will "reset" (regain all health) and drop aggro. In the case of Grummus he would have followed us and the adds back to the large room we were in just before we rushed him and then disappeared and repopped back at his spawn point. We then could have killed the adds, rested, and attacked him again. Usually the raid leader will call LEASH in raidsay and everyone in the raid runs back to a predetermined spot that is just outside the leashed mobs range.
